This is true! I’d peg beginning started with Reagan, and this could be end game (or a backlash to a brighter day????)

The second he was named as an “equal co chair” of the commission named after Musk’s pet crypto, I knew that weasel was toast

They’ve slandered FEMA for at least 30yrs. I think the concept scares GOP because it *requires* belief govt not only *can* help, but *should* A necessary job that to many in distress is both not enough and takes too long to arrive. A good job goes unheralded & mediocre one can end careers

I sure wish my camel’s back would get better

This is H1N1 hitting, just in time for the deeply experienced set of Trump’s masterful epidemiological administrative skills to kick in! Soon with more Bobby!™

Sigh No they’re not This is old school thinking. Jan 6 has been effectively neutered in regular America for a long time People don’t even talk about *COVID*. Hell, THEY ELECTED TRUMP AGAIN* after he clearly caused the deaths of thousands of Americans I don’t think many care that much

Great article in Bloomberg (hat tip @beccalew.bsky.social). The observations and language used in the article about young American men reminds me of the news reports I heard about the generation of young men in the Middle East in the 90s-00s. That’s scary

A bright spot for me this week in what otherwise feels like an inexorable march toward catastrophe. Congratulations to my favorite player, Ichiro Suzuki on 2 Hall of Fame inductions (MLB, and 野球殿堂), and nuts to the lone writer who left him off the MLB ballot. www.mlb.com/news/ichiro-...

Also @chuckschumer.com: “And fuck the useless out of work, and the lower class. They’re deadweight”

This is a classic example of bad democratic messaging. Long, mealy mouthed, and means nothing to opponents, and pisses off your side. Better: “We’ll fight to the end for a better life for Americans. We’ll resist any policies destined to hurt America’s people”

Excellent NYT interview with the outgoing U.S. ambassador to Hungary. This is a key insight!

I know it’s “just” TikTok, but feels part of a larger reaction wave. Whether Trump and Co. is capable or *intends*to do so, the structure of things seems destined to force the worst outcome, as momentum picks up www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8FgWawj/

More like meth for cokeheads

It’s exhausting looking at the corpse of American journalism that was become an attention economy vehicle, and hoping for a return to its past of the last 50-75 years (lest we forget rampant yellow journalism) Sigh Great dive by Mr. Jarvis

And the “we have always been at war with Eurasia” shit begins again

9 social media platforms since Twitter was murdered, and still now edit function? 😐

On Red Note it’s considered polite to add a translated version of our English post. This is for whoever the CCCP has watching me here 🥰 This is America, comrade! 正当我以为我不会感到惊讶时…… 我已经这么老了,我记得几年来,MAGA 一直在抱怨政府对社交媒体的入侵 哦,还有马斯克在电梯里放的湿屁,那是“Twitter 文件 ZOMG!!!”
