you often see partisan political cheerleading compared to sports, but most sports fans i've met usually have some opinions about the tactics of their favorite team, or are even willing to criticize the management when they make bad calls. political cheerleaders are less sophisticated than that

Is there a name for the fallacy of using fallacies in order to dodge addressing criticism? Like when you point out hypocrisy on pro-US smearing campaigns and they say it is whataboutism, or when you say the guy is a moron who didn't do basic research and they say it is an ad hominem.
