We asked @ec.europa.eu and @consilium.europa.eu to improve compliance with EU case law on access to legislative documents.
Arguments relied on by both institutions to justify refusing access to documents have been dismissed by the EU Court.

We called on @ec.europa.eu to be more transparent about #humanrights info it relied on before signing an agreement with Tunisia that includes EU funds for border management. It should also set out and publish explicit criteria for suspending EU funding.

We found maladmin in @ec.europa.eu failure to meet legal deadlines for preparing authorisation decisions concerning dangerous chemicals.
Decisions take 14.5 months on average despite a 3-month deadline, with the chemicals remaining in use during the process.

In July, we found multiple separate instances of maladministration in the EU careers office's handling of complaints about staff recruitment tests.
EPSO then went on to respond positively to several of our suggestions.

We also found that there is no systematic review of the financial interests of experts. We therefore suggested that @ec.europa.eu asks candidate experts to complete a detailed declaration, including financial and family interests.

We encourage @ec.europa.eu to reflect on what information on future AI projects it will make publicly available, and to consider carrying out public consultations on the possible adoption of new powerful AI tools.
