If you’re on PC, head to the insert tab and pick Headers and Footers. Click on header and see what happens.

That sounds like you might have added a header by mistake

Last step is to paste the text where it’s supposed to be. If down whatever reason it’s missing from your copy/paste, copy from the backup.

Id then use the find tool’s replace function to replace every instance with blank. You can do this by hitting on replace with nothing in the replace bar. This will quite literally erase every instance of that text at once.

So what I’d try is to copy that text and paste it in a separate document as a backup
I’d then paste the text in the docs find tool in your big document to highlight every instance of the text, all few hundred of them.

Oh, haven’t had that one before.
I have a fix if you want one

I’m concerned that you would, but intrigued that you might

Freaked out in what way? If it’s toast, you might be able to recover an autosaved backup

I tried this, and have to say it is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because you get to weave an incredible tapestry of arcs and journeys, and a curse because all that work is down the drain without a hell of a lot of marketing during and before writing the books themselves.

(2/2) There’s some pretty important differences too, but it’s close enough that part of me can’t help but wonder if somewhere down the line I’ll be called a knockoff.
Even that isn’t a big deal in the end, but I’d rather not wear a shoe that doesn’t fit.
Have you guys been in this boat?

I find it funny that this used to be a huge draw in storytelling to make the MC more relatable. Like Luke Skywalker and his power converters

Much appreciated! I am afraid I’m not one for AI tools, but it’s good to know things like that are out there.

I had to Google what that was to respond lol. No, I’ve never used it

The most impressive feat I’ve ever seen from a story is when the author somehow wrote a sentence as long as a page. The sentence was near unreadable, but still impressive.

With each story I write, I also have a “Leftovers” document specifically for this purpose. That way I can come back to it later if a scene works somewhere else. It comes in handy and softens the blow when trimming

The story is set in a post apocalyptic fantasy world with a perfectly rambunctious little girl named Gretel as the main character.
Trigger warning: While some choices lead to lighthearted moments, others end in gruesome deaths.

True be that. I have not found any shortcuts to dealing with it aside from starting a personal project that I don’t have to take too seriously

It really is impossible to fail at being a writer. Either you continue writing or you don’t - succession failure don’t factor into it.

My recommended samples of these groups would be:
Archangel by TSFH
Destroyer by Audiomachine
Solstice from ITTCT

I recommend Two Steps from
hell, Audiomachine, and If These Trees could Talk. They’re nonlyrical groups with music that ranges from orchestral to metal, depending on your taste.

Based on what I’ve seen, it’s either something people love or hate. I’ve a few friends who use it but haven’t gotten around to it myself

I use Obsidian to do something very similar! Works wonders

There’s a few fun ones out there. Obv some god mods but I tend to stay away from those. Currently my dwarf swears like a sailor, Bosco sounds like a turret from Portal, and all Mission Control says is “Blah blah blah”

I’ve got the same sentiment about Engi, there’s just so many different ways to approach any problem. Sometimes I go for the diggy boi when I want something different, but I’m an Engi at heart.
Yeeah, I’ve got atrocious WiFi to thank for my solo status. Bosco’s a mad lad tho, so it works out lol

Been there 😔 My advice is to still brainstorm and outline ideas to keep the fire alive. Theres been some dark days where the only thing that got me through was a pencil and sticky notes

I’ve heard really good things about Magnetic Pellet Alignment. Generally I run solos so I use a crowd control build - Loki with explosive chemical rounds and either Breach Cutter or Shard Diffractor depending on the mission type. Add shredders and Steeve to the mix and you got yourself a party :D

My go-tos are Google Docs and Obsidian, but just about any word processor will do. It really depends on what works for your process
