I think it’s important to remember fascism does not only win because of how people vote in a single election. Or even two. That is not the first and only cause. And if your institutions were resistant to fascism it would not succeed in consolidating power within a few months.

Local planners: 7 years and $1.2 million. #Beavers: just vibes and sticks. Nature's engineers get it done. No permits required

Canada's Tommy Douglas on Fascism

I just want to tip my hat to the crack team of White House economists who were able to discover--in just a few short days--that the U.S. is dependent on China for smartphones, computers and semiconductors.

We used to mock Russian propagandists with exactly this profile.

my new argument against uber with everything going on is simply going to be “why are you giving your money to a US multinational when you could be using a local taxi service?”

We have the most anti-free speech government in modern American history. (And yet, in true Orwellian fashion, they claim to be champions of free speech.)

Also his face on Apr 29th when he’s signing his resignation letter. 🤞🏻

Remember Signalgate? That wasn't even two weeks ago.

Hey, #Ottawa, if you take transit to work, consider voting early. Voting day is the first business day of the new bus schedule. There will be hiccups and delays. Protect your vote by using your advance voting day options. #OttPoli

Rest in peace to the director of Weekend at Bernie's, but also his estate has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.

HP Instant Ink subscriptions are pure evil.

Pierre Poilievre dropped five candidates in one week, yet he continues to stand behind Aaron Gunn and Andrew Lawton For @thestar.com, I ask why is Poilievre standing behind these candidates with extreme and controversial views when he has thrown others under the bus for arguably lesser offences?

Anything can become a sleepy podcast if you slow it down to .75x speed.

Reminder as we watch measles rates climb in Canada that *this* is Poilievre's attitude towards vaccination during a public health emergency. MMR vaccination has long been mandated for health care workers. Would a Poilievre govt ban the MMR mandate in health care during a huge measles outbreak?

It's small potatoes in the scheme of things but not sure it makes any sense for legal reporters to ask lawyers at firms that have caved to Trump for any expert analysis on litigation involving the administration.

The U.S. has had a shortage of air traffic controllers for years. Air traffic controller staffing “is at an all-time low,” said Nick Daniels, president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, their union. Daniels said the situation has “hit a critical point."

Just so appalling. These big firms and the wealthy lawyers who work for them are directly contributing to the rapid undermining of the rule of law in the US. And they’re violating the oath they swore to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law.

Michael Gove used to ban teachers from their profession for life for drug use. He got caught taking cocaine and a few years later he's getting a peerage? It's as clear as day that drug laws are just there to punish the working class.

This will appear in a few future history books as the perfect metaphor for current events....

This is the way.

whoops

‘after COVID” and “post COVID” are common parlance. This language is confounding not only because COVID-19 remains a threat, but also because one would be hard-pressed to find anyone similarly willing to say “post AIDS”, for example, despite AIDS being first recognized nearly half a century ago’.

Doing this while they decimate the public library system—the only place where many people can reliably access a computer—underlines the evil. They want more poor, disabled, unhoused, and elderly people dead.

I once saw a guy get fired at a pizza place I worked at for giving a customer 8 breadsticks instead of 6, and it actually fucked up his life pretty badly. And yet these guys can just light enormous piles of money on fire and they’re still the most powerful and influential people on the planet 🥴

CBC news reported on Pierre Poilevre in St. Catharines this morning, supporting a pro-life/forced pregnancy candidate with no mention of this. #cdnpoli
