My personal opinion on what Poo Tin did is that he had all these decades to elevate life but he hardly did. It's always a handful of oligarchs, no freedom of speech, piles of innocent people in prison or dead. Offered loans to build industries and defaulted. He thinks he can get away.

I've since been traveling to Russia. In the rural areas, life hasn't changed much. Still burning wood to warm up and without tap water system. Even girls are taught how to use firearms in high school. Extremely high unemployment rate. School teachers' pay at $250/month. Barely surviving.

The driver took us to the hotel and we were told of a curfew hour by which every night we must get back into the hotel. This is 1981.
