Survivor of CSA, organised abuse and the justice system. One of 99 in 100 who reported SV to police with no justice. Devastated at the justice gap and that the perpetrators are emboldened & free to harm again. I’m also a mother of 3 boys & a psych nerd!

The justice gap is devastating isn’t it?

Jennifer Coate states “we know without doubt, that the vast majority of girls and women who are sexually assaulted will not report to the police and do not want to go through our criminal justice system.”

Are you putting this article forward as disinformation? I’m not sure what point you are making

Wikipedia needs fact checking just like everywhere else. More so in some cases, as there are a handful of editors who wield a lot of power on there and bully out new editors with up to date information, which is in direct contrast to the ideology of all contributing to the base of knowledge.

Every shift in boundary can come with, I find, a backlash that can be internal and/or external. At least at first. But so worth it to honour ourselves in this way. I’m sorry that you were subjected to this for voicing your view, but am celebrating with you the success in making room for yourself! 🙌🏻

Have you got the link to the study you refer to? I can’t seem to find it. Do the studies say different things? Or dis this one super the one you are referring to?

Yes, apologies, I didn’t mean to put that forward as something you didn’t know, more to make the link between mothers as perpetrators and bystanders. A very underreported area I imagine, incredibly hard to disclose, and would need to be met with strong empathy & curiosity for the impacts on you

It is a unique kind of pain isn’t it, betrayal at this depth by a mother? There does seem to be a shift towards understanding the role of mother as perpetrator or bystander in CSA, which is needed. Combating the shame of this was brutal… #CSA #OrganisedAbuse

Laws haven’t changed, maybe a slight improvement? I am just no longer in denial about the justice system. I was abused at in childhood in my home. Police called it organised crime as our “family friends” would sometimes pay money after an assault. No justice, just trauma

It’s a different world I walk around in now, knowing as I do now at a visceral level, that if I am assaulted again the person who harmed me almost certainly won’t face any consequences.
