New agency, for sure. It’s important to move into a post-resilience mentality of adaptation and agility as we head into the storm.
But not actual renewal in terms of society or the biosphere. The long back loop has only just begun, and it’s going to get much much harder before any kind of renewal.

That’s so true. The larger (“structural”) issues are complex and if people gave a little more to collective efforts, and didn’t run from t(easy way) the turbulence of doing group organizing, things would actually change.

I don’t think it’s about “inevitability” but about trajectory. That’s the current trajectory with zero signs of shifting to a genuinely new one.
Agree: regarding “progress” v. growth. Sufficiency and adaptive divergence are what needs to become focus.

I see this happening all the time. The anti-woke push back has effect my won: people now dismiss any alarm or progressive indignation (no matter the appropriateness) as “woke bullshit” and dismiss.
It’s cognitive easing for easy denialism. Lots of ostriches with head up ass, I mean in sand…
