1. Trump is pushing forward with his plans to create a "Crypto Strategic Reserve." No one has bothered to explain why diverting government resources into crypto has ANY STRATEGIC BENEFIT FOR THE UNITED STATES. The only benefit is for people who are current investors in crypto. It's a grift.

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

“Zelenskyy is the real thing. He stayed in Kyiv, when Russian forces were closing in & the city was under bombardment. Vance, by contrast, chose to move to an undisclosed location when confronted with a few hecklers on a skiing trip this weekend” www.ft.com/content/2e90...

Rep. Jim Himes: Zelenskyy is watching 70,000 dead Ukrainians. Missiles are slamming into hospitals. This is what he’s seeing, and he comes to the Oval Office, and a reporter asks him why he’s not wearing a suit. And the effing VP wants him to say thank you…

A brilliant Banksy.

'It's nice to have a sister—someone to share adventures with!' 💚 Here’s your first look at Victoria Chen and Ami Okumura Jones as Mei and Satsuki in #MyNeighbourTotoro.

While you weren't looking, Trump rolled back Biden's ethics rules prohibiting executive branch employees from accepting major gifts from lobbyists. So much for "drain the swamp."

Good work George.

God bless, Renee Fleming!

Trump is a thug, a bully and a gangster. This is what statesmanship looks like: doing what's necessary to protect your country's interests, but keeping open the hand of friendship and hoping for a day when the US will return to its senses.

This is, by some distance, the most unforgivably stupidest thing the government is doing. An easily sellable proposal, which would actually help Brits, and unlocks meaningful negotiation. Irrational and anti-growth.

That noise you hear is the 1930s screaming it’s warning at us.

The @Telegraph, @thetimes, @MailOnline & @TheSun publish corrections to their scaremongering on undocumented migrants in London. Imagine between them the reach & power of these papers. The fact is they are using that power to instil Trumpist hate & we are ill-equipped to resist.

A single stem of white hyacinth on the kitchen windowsill. The knocking of the woodpecker on the trunk of a neighbour’s tree. It feels like we have turned a corner.

Lovely film about the sad ending of one of our greatest of arts treasures The London Mime Festival. Thank you Joe and Helen for all your love. The Last Show youtu.be/O5MTr0E97Q8

Just three in 10 Britons (30 per cent) say that it was right for the UK to vote to leave the EU, compared to 55 per cent who say it was wrong, a new YouGov poll has shown www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

The number of Britons saying the UK was right to vote to leave the EU has hit its lowest level since the referendum, ahead of the fifth anniversary of Brexit on Friday

A friend shared this over on FB - never seen it before (Stars in their Eyes wasn't something I watched). A lovely performance from Tony Slattery being Paul Heaton. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-fD...

The best special effects in the whole movie…

“It is alarming that the government is happy to negotiate with China but won’t even look at a better trading arrangement with our closest neighbours in Europe. This is an act of economic negligence” Ed Davey www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/econom...

Shakespearean

Superb.

A paper that understands its responsibility, in a country that knows it when it sees it. Impressive from Die Zeit. Refuses to show the salute, but calls it out for what it so obviously was. Headline: “A Hitler Salute is a Hitler Salute is a Hitler Salute”

Youth Theatre is often required to justify its existence by the skills it offers to young people (oracy, creativity, teamwork) and the talent it develops for professional theatre. These are useful, but I think there's something else it does that is much more important.

#MyNeighbourTororo I am at work

Don’t steal the revelation Learning is a journey of incompetence. First, we realize that there's something we don't know. Then we see that we're going to be better at it, and we're not good at it yet. Then we figure it out and we've succeeded. Repeat. When we pre-process the information and simply…
