Over 14 million people living in poverty of which 4+ million are children. These figures are increasing every day and Starmer’s Labour party think a bowl of cereals 5 mornings a week will stop it.

The UK has the leakiest homes in Europe. Insulating every home that needs it, as well as transitioning to heat pumps as gas boilers come to the end of their life, will bring down bills AND emissions and keep us on track for net zero according to the Climate Change Committee.

I agree with Keir Starmer that cutting foreign aid is callous, against our national interest, and affects our reputation around the world. Repost if you agree!

A tax of 2% above €100,000,000 will generate €25,000,000,000. 👏 👏 👏

Now there is a telling stat #RenewableEnergy phys.org/news/2025-02...

I can't help but wonder whether there is a lesson for Labour here.

Surely this new video won't make me seem like a crank. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEJp...

Wise man…

He nails it.

Weird how we're not OK damaging children's lungs with cigarettes but totally fine doing it with internal combustion engines. This is outside a primary school.

Surprise! People want to use public transport and if you make it more convenient they will use it. https://www.irishnews.com/news/northern-ireland/belfast-to-dublin-train-numbers-jump-50-since-introduction-of-hourly-services-LIBSFAPPKBAIHFTKNONSBJYPPU/

Should we even be surprised. Scottish Labour have proven time and time again that they fail on the most basic of moral exercises. It’s staggering that anyone could ever trust a party so two faced and cowardly.

Successful second homes crackdown means homes are £30k cheaper for Cymry, who actually need them.

Speaking of toxic.... How's fixing Lough neagh going @andrewmuirni.bsky.social ? Perhaps your party should have focused on that instead of putting trans young people at risk and the entire conversation could have been avoided.

The last year has been one of the deadliest for journalists, with Israel being responsible for the death of 70 percent of journalists cpj.org/special-repo...

Print this out and frame it. If Labour lose in 2029, it will be because of what they decided to do and not do. You won't be able to blame it on the media, or on any other external factor. And an unforgivable 2029 loss that lets the Far Right in will end Labour *forever* as a party of government.

The system of parliamentary prayer cards is not only discriminatory, outdated, and unfair – it's also not working. Parliament should be a place where all MPs are treated equally, regardless of religion or belief. humanists.uk/2025/01/17/m...

👏👏👏 ‘We can’t just say we need growth. Who is it for?’

Ever wondered if you can buy a digital book or audiobook and then donate it to a library? Why can we do it with physical goods but not digital ones? Aren't those digital items ours too? I find it frustrating to finish a digital book and leave it sitting on my 'digital shelf.' #DigitalOwnership

At the moment, mansion-sized Asteroid 2024-YR4 has a one-in-fifty chance of hitting Earth in the next eight years. Now might be a bad time to reduce spending on Science. Just sayin’.

Human beings are social animals. That’s the fundamental biology. Civilisation is the organisation of groups of humans. That’s the fundamental sociology. Individualism is not simply undesirable, it is incompatible with our species. It’s really simple.

At first glance, a quintessentially beautiful Irish landscape. But in reality, it's a deadzone. The graveyard of a once species-rich Atlantic rainforest wonderland, smothered under sheep and, in the distance, sitka. We are, however, waking to just how much has been stolen from us.

They are pretending COVID doesn’t exist so they don’t have to provide basic worker rights like sick days, remote work, or worker protections. COVID is a labor justice issue.

Another Green win, this time from Labour. The media (not least the BBC) give almost constant coverage to Farage & Reform, almost none to the Green Party, which now has 813 councillors to Reform's 70. Is it because we're not fascist enough? (graphic by @leftiestats.bsky.social)

Labour keep trying to attack @greenparty.org.uk In the Assembly - when I proposed an idea to reduce the amount the super rich can fly: they constantly tried to push back. Has it ever been clearer that Labour with the Tories exist solely to serve the rich & corporations?

GREEN GAIN, stopping Reform in its tracks. 👏 Congratulations to Warwick District Green Party. Clear endorsement while running the council.

“All happy cities might be happy in different ways, but all unhappy cities are unhappy in the same ways.” And Dublin and Brussels are very unhappy right now.

Re-upping this for the weekend crowd. Brussels and Dublin are very different cities. But they’re struggling to cope with the same problems. And both are suffering identity crises brusselsnotes.substack.com/p/85-twin-ci...

Reform are gaining traction. But so are the mighty greens! Love and hope will always triumph! We need to make sure the Greens continue to pull ahead! join.greenparty.org.uk

Good morning to this man, and this man only #bbcqt

Question Time last night was pretty fierce. And had to be. There's a deliberate effort now to shift the ground: towards appeasement, inhumanity and authoritarianism. Once more, we must resist it. We must fight hard for kindness. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Land for peace. Works every time ... 🙄

“there are Neville Chamberlain’s in every generation” George Monbiot’s takedown of Matt Goodwin and the Reform party is a thing of beauty 👏 #bbcqt
