I don't think there's anything wrong with your personality or anything like that. I think friendships just take a long time to bond and mend. These things can be as easy as a click, or as hard as mashing a nail in with a block of wood. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself Tuna, you're great!

First place gets 1k + commercial rights on top of the design. That is how I operate with every artist I work with if I plan on ever using their content for streaming or merch purposes. Ask any artist I worked with and they can confirm this for you.

Nope! Everyone owns their works even if I paid for it with commercial rights. If someone decides "I don't want you using this design anymore" then I am willing to accommodate that! Absolutely.
I own my character, but the designs submitted I don't own any of them and never claimed to.

The winner will recieve 1000$ + commercial rights for that design, and only that design.
I have no intention of using multiple without paying them or discussing commercials with them.
That is how I personally operate and always have. Ask anyone I've worked with.

I understand and that might be true, but I still don't think it's okay to light a fire under someone for doing one.
Nothing in my contest is harmful or have ill intent, I personally went out of my way to be inclusive and make it available to everyone.

I really don't know, I wanted to do something fun and put people forward. I've always had, you can ask anyone I've worked with.
I thought an art contest, with a money pool & physical handmade prizes! (custom 3DS') was cool! So.. that's what I wanted to do.

Yea, I get that. I'm only going to pay for commercial rights for one design, and that's the winner... on top of the prize money they already get.
I have already made plans to share off every submission's vgen, portfolios, where to commission etc.
I just feel put down for trying something fun..?

I'm paying out for first, second, and third and made a homemade prize (custom Nintendo 3DS) for all three.
I will also be paying commercial rights for the first prize on *top* of the 1,000 they already receive.
I'm deeply hurt by someone feeling I'm taking advantage of people, when I'm not.
