I'm ready. Let's just finish this chapter of human history and move on to the sticks and stones portion.

I didn't say it was. But you accused me of not being an American based on racist prejudice.

I'm American born and raised. The fact that I speak a foreign language is because I put in the effort to learn a skill. If having more skills than you is all it takes for you to be racist, then that really says more about you than me.

The US is the world superpower. We live in an international community. You consider non-Americans to not be a part of YOUR group, which is why it's self-centered.

There you go again, saying "MY tax dollars shouldn't be spent on OTHER people". It's a very self-centered view. The whole point of taxes is that people don't want to put money into the pot for the common good, so it has to be mandatory, otherwise the common good goes to shit.

BBC Media Action, to be specific. It's the international charity which is affiliated with the BBC. Part of their mission is providing reliable news in regions where freedom of press isn't protected.

Sorry. Perhaps I should have said "Helping OTHER people costs a lot of money.", which is clearly your issue with it. You only want to help yourself.

Never say this to a scientist when they're talking about confidence intervals.

Not as a rule, but there are limits to which political views a person can have while still being a friend. For example, if they support deporting your other friends while knowing full well who they are and what that entails. That said, you don't have to be friends to keep an open dialogue.

If humanitarian work is necessary, then it shouldn't have to beg for scraps to be successful. That's like saying "Rich stingy people have the right to keep their food to themselves even if a poor person will literally die of starvation as a result". Charity is good, but government funding is better.

That's correct. We are.

Ah, "does not [cost a lot]" was the intended meaning. Thanks for the clarification.

USAID is literally designed to help people all around the world. Musk saw it and thought "Helping people costs a lot of money. What if we just didn't help people?". And just like that, human suffering around the globe was increased.

The same issue that applies to AIPAC applies to her making statements on enforcing international law. It would've been too little too late, and it would sour AIPAC towards the Democratic party in every subsequent election. That said, I do wish the US would stop vetoing every UN resolution on Israel.

I never even clicked on the video. I've spoken to enough people in this format to know that it's not worth the effort. If you have a point you want to make, you can make it without referring me to a third party.

She lost Republican-leaving voters because they saw a black woman as a gimmick intended to win votes rather than as a serious candidate who was qualified. I'm not saying the antisemitic claims would be accurate or that she actually was a gimmick, I'm just saying that that propaganda works.

Yes, that's my beef. People who can't be concise tend to come in two forms: The philosopher who can't think for themself and therefore can't describe the ideas in simple words. And the infomercial salesman who thinks using more words will convince people the product isn't garbage.

You are a criminal though. Everyone is a criminal. Law enforcement doesn't need you to actually break any law to charge you and win in court. It happens all the time. That said, I guarantee you've also broken laws in your life.

Unilaterally deciding people are criminals and putting them in prison when they've done nothing harmful at all to anyone is something you should feel bad about.

Unfortunately not true. There are both criminal and civil penalties in place.

"A similar perspective" meaning "I took my perspective from them because it sounded good, so maybe they'll be able to convince you with arguments that I can't think of myself".

If she had gone pro-Palestine, she would have been smeared as an antisemitic terrorist sympathizer. She wasn't just going after moderate Republicans, she was also going after retaining centrist Democrats and undecided voters (although every single Republican won over is worth 2 of the others).

And yet you're still making numerous posts instead of being concise.
comment in response to

I've understood your point. Part of what I'm saying is that in the process of winning those votes, she would also lose votes on the other side of the spectrum. She might have won more than she lost, but it's hard to say.

The former secretary of transportation, pointing the finger at Trump for an air traffic safety issue that resulted in numerous deaths, mere days after his position was taken over by the Trump administration. Yeah, I'd say that's pretty damning.
comment in response to

Nothing you said negated my point. It's a bad strategy to allow someone to win when you can turn the tide for a better option. Dems made some mistakes when campaigning, but the fact that voters were stupid enough to make them choose between one voting bloc and another meant they lost either way.

It was both parties that normalized it. It was part of the Democratic party that began speaking against it. Withholding votes for the party which is more favorable towards your view is a recipe for losing all leverage you ever had on the issue.

After thinking about it a bit longer, I didn't like this clarification either, because there are some extinct birds, so "non-avian dinosaurs" would have been a better clarification. But I figured it was good enough and I didn't want to spam my own comment with technical footnotes.

Haven't watched it yet, but I think the sexiest part of a chicken is the fact that they're one of the most basal forms of bird, meaning they're closer to dinosaurs than most other birds.

Without anything pointing to that context in the meme, that's not how it comes off. It comes off as a straw man criticism of Trump for wanting an apology.

No offense, but I think Biden is far more intelligent than you. If you can figure out what a political group is about, I think he can.
