Technical question: wouldn't it be "President Sheinbaum"? I thought the protocol was to use the surname not the name, or not the name alone. Am I wrong? English is not my forst language so maybe I'm not aware of the rules.

I would have done the same as you. Who can resist such things? Is like hearing Neil Diamond sing "Sweet Caroline" and not singing the woh, woh, woh part.

I hate the sentence "if you wish it strong enough the Universe will grant your wishes."
And I'm like, c'mon! The Universe doesn't care about your insignificant existence because it's not a sentient entity, plus the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs also came from "the Universe".

Same feeling here.
I don't know if it's because of the influence of the "self-help" "philosophy" or what, but the number of allegedly grown-ups that are upset when their actions have consequences they don't like is alarming.

While I can agree the hate and the hype LLM and AI get is high, if someone wants to get themself an education, there are public libraries where knowledge is stored, available for everyone and for free, and they can get helped by librarians.
AI is not a panacea and probably never will.

You are right. If they really want a change they have the power to lobby for it, as they do when they have real interest on the matter.

That is so true. Decent healthcare should be law as is one of our Human Rights, and most of the First World countries have it.
What I meant was that he seems more aware and willing to do something to improve the living of others that other rich guys.
I am to see how close The Simpsons depicted him.

Have you heard of Cuban's drug business? For what I know, it helps lower the prices of medecines and other health products making it available for the general public.
That doesn't make him an angel, but, could you name another billionaire doing such things? I can't. Maybe Bill Gates, but not sure.

Anybody has the clip from The Simpsons where Quimby attends a Dem convention and someone says something by the lines of "I don't know how we are going to screw it, but we will; it's what Democrats do"?

I guess they talk about multiplying stuff like 123456763632 × 7534677432 and not literally 20x20, but still... wtaf? My 25-year-old casio calculator can do it in seconds.

Well... there is a lot of people fed up about the way tourism is managed and the effects on the working force on that sector; and the migrants/refugees may tell stories of their working conditions. But at least the government is prone to care about that and solve it.

I heard someone long ago saying something by the lines of "It's not that power attracts corrupt people, but that they are attracted to power", and it seems a good fit.

No, I haven't. At least not much, but, like you, I have seen things on my work that I could tie to that. Its effect on teenagers is quite powerful and harmful.
Plus, during COVID lockdown I saw it on my family and close friends.
Would be something interesting to read about.

Not to play the devil's advocate, but I remember saying it about George Bush jr. Let's hope this time it's right.
