In other news, my Great Book Heist was a roaring success

You've found my weak spot - the words "found family" make any book irresistible to me

Even better, I can download it on KU and you can save the promo days!

Absolutely love this nature connection list. I live in the centre of a major city so some of these are harder for me, but perhaps all the more important as a result!

Definitely the latter - it's something I've struggled with for years, even before I started writing, so I know it's something I'm susceptible to. As, I imagine, a lot of us are!

So here are some others things that are, in fact, productive: ๐ŸŽจ Enjoying art ๐ŸŒณ Being in nature ๐Ÿฒ Cooking a nutritious meal ๐ŸŽต Listening to a new album ๐Ÿšถ Going for a walk ๐Ÿ›€ Having some 'me' time ๐Ÿ“– Journalling, or writing for yourself ๐Ÿ™‚ Stopping work early (not when you're exhausted) ๐Ÿงต (2/2)

For books, that emotion might be as profound as "I want to see how this character reconnects with his long-lost son" or it might be something as simple as "I want to see this cool superpower in action!" Whatever it is, build your blurb around that. ๐Ÿงต (3/3)

When we write marketing copy, we should aim to highlight our USP - the aspect of our product that makes it stand out against others. What makes the book different? But it's not as simple as just explaining that USP; we should be putting the associated emotional connection front and centre. ๐Ÿงต (2/3)

I've done both over the years, but I think I started by focusing on just one book (and I thought "This is it! My magnum opus! I'm gonna be big!") Looking back... maybe I, in fact, was not writing my magnum opus. Maybe I was learning.

That's an absolutely killer cover

And sometimes that's a perfectly valid reason! I've been focusing on transitioning to writing full time so I didn't have the luxury of writing something without an audience - but that might change...

This might just be the post that gets me to give RoP another go - I didn't have strong feelings one way or the other after the 1st season so I'm glad to hear the 2nd is a little faster paced!
