I (sadly) really think we need to reorient our perspective/expectations around not dropping out of the Champions League places this season (considering the injuries, etc, etc). In THAT context, a point away against the team directly behind you is indeed a serviceable result.

It would have been soft, but I think we’re fortunate that wasn’t given on field. Not convinced it wouldn’t have stood had it been…

I think this format could have felt even more effective/exciting if the number of “group stage” games had remained at 6. Would have seen a more variable top 8 (ie Brest) and some bigger clubs would have missed out on the extra margin of error to claw their way back (ie City)
