Oh I meant 'right' in the sense of 'I don't think this team usually beats that team' not the actual scoring be incorrect lol, but that does make sense.

I mean... are you Elena Produnova hitting her eponymous vault at Universiade 1999? Then yes you are one of the best ever no ifs ands or buts.
Are you anyone else? Eh. Probably not.

I'd add honorable mentions for Silivas and Andrade.

A combination of developing/giving experience to (especially younger/less experienced) gymnasts and testing out major routines from likely World/Olympic team members in front of international judges.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, where can one find the judging panels for WC?

"Oh just throw a Lopez" makes sense to me when said about Cheng-ers who don't need to bring out full difficulty for whatever, but that....

Boo for me, good for her training I hope. That's both my favorite Americans out of WC - looks like Izzy Anzola won't be competing either. Oh well, more time for me to stan Dulcy and Harlow I guess!

I'm almost convinced that most USA fans don't know that other countries have promising upcoming juniors. Like, at all.

The only way those different qualification rules make sense to me is if you can then compete AA at WC/Classics (which, personally, I have no problem with). Otherwise - you're right, it's a dead end so what's the point?

Oh dear... no Anzola. Hope she's ok!!

My indifference to Biles' gymnastics is well known but even I'd argue that if you can land a YDP well enough to get it named you are performing well enough in the sport to justify sending you even if your D-score on all the other events is 1. But VT is really the only event where that's possible.

Florida stans scare me a bit but I adore their athletes.

And even if she does sort it out, LA would already be her 2nd Trials. I think she's the best of that cohort even with an UB situation, but she still does nothing to help the impending juniorpocalypse.

We do also have Sumanasekera waiting in the wings.... if she can hold on thru NCAA and sort out her bars situation.

If I lived in the same city as a qualifier and knew a gymnast I really liked was going to be competing there, I *might* go to their session because it's smaller, cheaper, and less of a hassle than big comps and I still get to see [favorite gymnast], but I doubt any fan is gonna travel for them.
