Considering they are banning samurai swords, the car version of a samurai sword only makes sense

One of the warlord's underlings that turns on him just turns into a chaos obliterator in their final fight because...? I actually confused two human characters with each other until they met later in the book. Overall I liked it, it's a fun one-off like the "Renegades" books seem to be

Genestealers are here, now a Khorne Bloodthirster, and it's all resolved with the warlord saying "fuck it" and re-releasing genestealers he had in storage from when they arrived, which called the Tyranid swam to destroy the planet. Even though it takes place over a decade, it all felt very fast.

I quite liked all the supporting chaos characters, the normal humans are just kinda ok. The exception is a normal human who turns Khorne follower purely out of hatred for the Slaaneshi warband that took his planet over. I loved him. I felt there was just too much going on in such a small setting.

Everyone turns on the warlord (mostly), including his demon gf which possesses the warlord's underling who bares a physical resemblance to Fulgrim (that demonic cucking is real salt in the wound for his failure). And when you make a society based on combat, the other chaos gods are showing up

Well..it all goes to shit. Turns out ruling on "make drugs free to everyone and the nobles have to fight (literally, in a pit) makes for a piss-poor society, and everyone in his warband wants to leave. Including a very interesting side character, his "lover", the demon that is possessing the warlord

The premise is great. The warlord in true Emp Children fashion is so self-obsessed that he puts everything on hold (and we later find out, orchestrated the whole crash) just to try and build a "perfect society" like Fulgrim (primarch/space-dad of the Emperor's Children). I mention a decade because..

The planet has no idea what a chaos space marine is, and just assumes this chaos warband from "The Emperor's Children" (a name that belies they are twisted freaks) are the Imperium coming back. Instead of razing the planet, the warlord bathes in the admiration and chooses to rule it for a decade.

General plot is a chaos warlord of The Emperor's Children and his merry warband are stranded on a world cut off from the Imperium. Fate would have it, as they arrive they find the planet is mid genestealer cult uprising. The warlord and his chaos freaks destroy the uprising and are seen as heroes
