I wouldn't worry about it. You're still winning because people are *paying* to read your erotica on Amazon. Literotica readers expect to be given novel length epics that take months to write for free, and then complain if the kink doesn't exactly match what they're into.

I can imagine. A lot of it looks crazy, some of it looks downright scary.

Except it's not really a fun show to watch right now, even from the outside.

I made the mistake of calling a recent book 'Liaisons', which was dumb because I can *never* spell it right first time, and often end up so wrong I get the no suggestions from the spell checker thing

It was! And exactly what I needed.

A bit of both. I know that my books with hotwife/threesome/anal scenes sell better than when I write romantic/couple erotica, so that pushes my output in a certain direction. But when I try to*deliberately* write for the market it never does as well: I still need to follow my own instincts too.

In the UK that's exactly what happens: www.bl.uk/plr/

I think this is it. I know there are readers who look out for my books, so it's useful to announce them on social media. I'm less sure of the efforts I made looking for new readers using Twitter, though. I had a better time using it as a place to talk to other writers.

I stopped thinking of social media as a marketing thing a few years ago. It made my life a million times easier and less stressful (and my sales went up, anyway).
