I couldn't sleep last night and started reading this. Now after finishing, I can't recall the last time a piece of journalism changed my perspective on a topic like this did. Going to be thinking of this @markfollman.bsky.social masterpiece for a while. www.motherjones.com/criminal-jus...

Having a Strand Road cycle path would mean that a huge chunk of the S2S Dublin Bay cycle route would be in place quickly. Then, officials can start to focus on progressing the small remaining sections. If you want that, sign to support the cycle path trial: my.uplift.ie/petitions/tr...

I generally cycle to Croker. There are never enough spaces so this is great to see!

Cannot underscore enough how big of a difference it makes where there is *zero* on street parking.

Ukraine is Europe! We stand by Ukraine. We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the agressor. Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.

I didn't signpost this as a thread. But please read to the end if you've a moment. Thanks.

We see that in our work. We've had lots on how cycle lanes are only for lycra-clad commuting men, how families cycling is a middle class leisure pursuit, that Disabled people don't cycle and recently that only delivery riders use cycle lanes (with a hint of their safety being unimportant).

Musk has no technical skills whatsoever, but he wants to appear smart. So he takes bits of information like this, told to him by junior engineers, and regurgitates it to appear smart. Musk did this with the Twitter stack and Twitter's senior architects called him out publicly, then he fired them.

A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people. Sound efficient? HT @ellenmacarthurfdn.bsky.social

Cars are designed with excessive power, leading to avoidable death and destruction. To lessen vehicular violence, we must regulate the dangerous designs auto manufacturers are allowed to implement. This isn’t about speed, it's about systemic change.

In the wake of storm Éowyn the government should be hammered on why they’re prioritizing changing how emissions are counted to let ag off the hook rather than actually reducing emissions
