I honestly have no idea. I’m just a knitter who buys wool in a store and I haven’t done any research into countries that produce.

Most often 100% wool (which could be either merino or alpaca or something else), but sometimes I use a sock yarn for hats/mittens and hold it double to get a thicker strand of yarn.

Most sock yarns are either a 75% wool/25% nylon or 80/20 and both are great in my opinion.

Not for socks, no. I like my socks to last a bit longer before having to mend them, so for me there needs to be a percentage of nylon in it.
