Getting ready to start digitising and restoring the #lovecraft documentary. We’re doing some of the footage of Frank Belknap Long, and Stuart Gordon, first.

Yesterday, the 34x convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, defamer, fraudster, and twice impeached Trump was given the keys to government again. Today, Louisiana is experiencing its first ever blizzard. Climate change? God’s wrath? You decide.

The Dog at Clambercrown by Jocelyn Brooke. Part Italian Journey, part psychogeographical memoir of childhood. One of the best things I read this year.

The new Reggie Oliver, This Haunted Heaven, is superb.

Complaining to Virgin Media yet again. Even as we try to leave, they are still being awful.

Life is short. Write that novel. Paint that painting. Try new recipes. Learn black magic. Go into the forest at night. Summon a demon. Earn that demon's trust. Become best friends with it. Brag to everyone else about your new cool demon best friend. Knit that sweater.

This.

My film about David Lindsay, A Vast Shadow House, will screen at Unit 4 in Hawick on 26 November. More details to follow....

‘Like Rilke, John managed to be earthy while expanding our imaginative reach into the angelic orders. His poems acted on one like a drug… one might emerge blinking and wondering, “Where have I just been?”’ —Kathleen Jamie on John Burnside www.newstatesman.com/culture/2024...

What’s up, you ask? Tilly on the pelmet!

“I can’t begin to convey to you the power of Lindsay’s vision; I found it overwhelming when I first read the book, thirty years ago, & I’ve seldom seen its equal outside Blake.” —Philip Pullman Celebrating the Centenary of David Lindsay’s A VOYAGE TO ARCTURUS (2020) www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6Hp...

Bedtime reading.

Nothing new, but: writing something of my own, I’m struck anew by how coming up with the words teaches me what I want to say, and what a loss that so many schools are abetting their students’ outsourcing of this work to an AI by never having taken writing instruction seriously in the first place.

"Put bluntly, fascism is a loser’s ideology, a smothering emotional safety blanket for deeply insecure and broken people (mostly men), which only makes their problems worse until it destroys them and everyone around them."
