don't remember much about pavement *but* southern harmony is so good. i think it's down to making eddie hawrysch a proper part of the group. he really brought the gospel to thorn in my pride. that whole "love light shine" section is glorious. they named that album after a hymnal for a good reason.

I’ve always leaned more toward “Engine” (the first side is flawless), but do love “Everclear” and will pull it out now for a long-overdue listen. Saw Eitzel at SXSW supporting “60 Watt,” and it was self deprecation elevated to an art form punctuated by occasional bursts of musical melancholy.
