It would be lovely to believe that we could move away from EHCPs by making mainstream more "inclusive". But our experience is that schools are nowhere near knowledgeable enough to meet childrens' needs. That urgently needs to be fixed, before parents' rights to challenge provision is removed.

When I listen to headteachers, I am in awe of the amount of responsibility they bear. I also believe it is excessive. If you work at a school and the headteacher frequently inquires about your well-being, be sure to inquire as well.

I don’t think you need a study to discover this - merely to work in schools. Job shares are the way to go - a win/win for everyone.

We should treat low test performance in low-stakes assessments like PISA with caution as it might be a test of motivation, not ability. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Jadon just said, “Mum, let’s continue reading Macbeth!”, it inspired me to share this moment. Together, we set a 10-minute timer: he reads first, then I revisit the text. We’re using an simplified version (easy read) of the book as prep, and plan to watch the film before he begins studying the play

This is one of our favourite activities. We got carried away with food colouring. 😃🤗 Drawing and art activities can significantly benefit autistic children by enhancing fine motor skills, memory, focus, and eye-hand coordination. #Art #colour #autism

I will admit, I’ve fiercely advocated about the gaps in the SEND system, often focusing on what’s broken as I work to support families. But today, I want to pause and redirect gratitude to the remarkable people who show up daily for my boys and so many others, even when the system feels strained.

How a partnership between @ormistontrust.bsky.social and the local authority to improve SEND support in Wolverhampton could point the way for more trust-council collaboration across the country

My son Ethan is not yet able to sit for extended periods in a restaurant due to his identified needs. Visits usually results in my husband and I taking him for a walk while one person eats with Jadon and then we alternate. His happiness is my happiness ❤️ #autism
