Mike Lee and the whole MAGA cohort have become sociopaths. This is far beyond a "joke." It's absolutely condoning and justifying political murder. charliesykes.substack.com/p/have-you-a...

@gruber.foo @snell.zone I’ve been following Ricky as he’s done indie synth tunes and worked with Novation, Elektron, and others. He’s bringing a real indie vibe and passion for creativity. That Apple chose him is interesting and I hope a good sign for creative audio apps. youtu.be/YxnNUBt7z8s?...

OMG is this disgusting DHS Barbie propaganda ad going to play every break during the baseball game? 🤮

Martin is a thuggish goon. He doesn’t belong anywhere near a leadership position in the DOJ. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/25/h...

Trump’s aiding and abetting of Russia continues to be both craven and disastrous. What a failure.

Over on X, a tale of the madness currently playing out with student visas is currently going viral on the basis of an astonishing quote from a judge calling what the Trump administration is doing “Kafkaesque.” The lawsuit is one of Banias. law’s emergency TRO cases and the quote is from 5 days ago.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

New from 404 Media: we've obtained a leak from inside Palantir describing Palantir's plan to help ICE find people to deport. Includes peoples' location. Palantir is expecting a backlash, preparing comments for employees to tell their family. Says ICE "mature partner" www.404media.co/leaked-palan...

This is a Cracker Jack Forth Circuit order. Worth reading in full. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

These cases aren’t only about one person or how perfect they are. They’re about the rule of law and due process.

Speaking now from El Salvador, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) says he was denied access to Kilmar Abrego Garcia by El Salvador leaders. And was denied a phone call to him Van Hollen: "The Trump Administration is lying about Abrego Garcia"

18F. US Digital Service. The Office of Transformation at SSA. Across the government the technologists who combined real tech skills with knowledge of policy and a commitment to making things work are being pushed out, replaced by Musk acolytes with no real plan to make govt work.

@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social What I've not seen discussed much is why individuals deported (removed) from the US (a civil expulsion) are being incarcerated in CECOT. What is the charge? Who imposed the sentence? When, and under what legal basis, could they obtain release?

Is Trump going to try and cancel MLB for exhibiting the horrible sin of “DEI” on Jackie Robinson day?

New “status report” filed by Trump officials. It basically says, “oops, too late.” We can’t order El Salvador to do anything. If he presents himself at a port of entry (even though he’s in the CECOT dungeon) we’ll arrest him and deport him to a third country.

MIT following Harvard's lead here

Since the Trump admin continues to claim Mr. Abrego Garcia is a gang member, I thought I'd take the time to put together a timeline, based on all the documents filed in court, which lays out all the "evidence" the government has ever offered. As you'll find out, there's very little "there" there!

WOW. The Trump admin is attempting to strip a green card from a Buddhist Palestinian who's committed to nonviolence, just because he advocated on behalf of Palestinian human rights. Free speech is being trampled on by this administration.

They violated a court order to keep the AP out of the event where they publicly violated a different court order

Four R senators and four R House members could announce they're caucusing with the Dems for now, and will vote for Schumer for Majority Leader and Jeffries for Speaker, because the threat to the rule of law is dire. Meanwhile, they'll work with Democrats to construct guardrails against dictatorship.

Breaking news: The European Commission is issuing burner phones and basic laptops to some US-bound staff to avoid the risk of espionage — a measure traditionally reserved for trips to China www.ft.com/content/20d0...

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

About 1 in every 60 people in El Salvador is incarcerated. That is more than twice the runner up (Cuba, which is around the same ballpark of estimates for North Korea) and more than three times the notoriously high rate in the United States. It is about on par with the gulag population under Stalin.

@raskin.house.gov We need a response from Congress regarding the White House meeting with Bukele. Now. Not only does the regime say they will defy the federal courts, they’ll also send US citizens to CECOT, a dungeon they clearly view as extra-constitutional. This cannot go unchallenged.

Where are all the so-called libertarian and constitutionalist GOP members of congress now?
