really interesting pot. english redware, glazed inside, a clear imitation of a classic yixing form, but with a vastly different direction - gold highlights and a flower pattern!

i like to sort by price from high to low sometimes

him: you better not be chinese yixing zisha clay teapot Sand-fired pot kettle ceramic chicken Theme when i get there my poultry ass:

aged oolong day again, happy to have decent examples of the stuff. drinking 2012 mixiang from yunnancraft today this stuff is a pretty nice bug bitten tea, nice sweetness, nice fragrance, full body, not excessively tannic or perfumey. think the roast contributes #gongfucha #teasky #oolong

@white2tea.bsky.social is fade the huangpian material from a particular production, or is it a mix?

rounds out the profile of the chongshi real nice, makes it more complete and with a thicker smoother texture

liubao + chongshi is actually pretty fun

reroasted aged oolong blend woody, thick, chewy, funky, a bit acidic, berry notes not there yet, needs more time in the jar (pictured), but its much better than it was has me curious about commodity aged oolongs like seadyke's 10yr tgy #gongfucha #teasky #oolong

What's the gayest of the 6 (dubious) categories of tea?

also drank the 07 TGY from wistaria, long steeps low tea had good results. will play with brewing, short steeps had bad results

essence of tea's big trees guafengzhai (from the club). floral aftertaste, reasonable strength, endurance leaves something to be desired, beany aroma currently. putting in an aged tea mylar, will see if it gets more interesting #teasky #gongfucha #puer

think yixing collecting produces bias against other forms of art. any unglazed clay pot is a yixing fake, slipcasting and wheel throwing are necessarily worse, less valuable, less pure, etc forms of producing pots, because "fully handmade" is the best. everything gets judged in a yixing lens

trialling a commodity tetsubin (not tetsukyusu) i got second hand for cheap. not a significant difference. may end up more pronounced in other teas

sweetestdew qimen maofeng green tea it was nice but its a good reminder why im not a fan of green tea #greentea #gongfucha #teasky

drank a balhyocha today that smells like after eight chocolates (dark chocolate with mint creme), and has an aftertaste that matches

Willowherb Oolong, Part Two! A lengthy process, but I think it’ll be worth it! 🌿🍵
