Wait, wait...am I reading this correctly? Grants are cancelled but grantees' "obligations under the grant agreement continue to apply"? WTF does that even mean? IMLS grant obligations include carrying out a project to successful completion based on performance objectives for which...oh nevermind...

These advertisements always make me wish I could go back in time and buy older issues of things like FF. I've never been able to figure out how to get money contemporary to the times other than to rob a bank while I'm back there, which I suspect would not be difficult if I had time travel powers.

Met with a class today to look at German printing during the Thirty Years War and I actually told them the raised bands on the books were poisonous snakes imprisoned in leather. After reading Allie's post, I couldn't help it. You should have seen the looks on their faces...

Will be providing a tour of a new liaison from our university foundation soon and this topic will be front and center of our conversation because during an earlier introductory meeting it was obvious this was a topic that was new to them.
