Oddly enough many years (seemingly) after that 69 team I went with a friend to a Met game in I believe 1985. Friend had scored tickets to a mid week day game which Gooden was to pitch. And who was the opposing pitcher? One Jerry Koosman!

Should have seen him live. Was a great pitcher with a long career.

MLB.tv last I checked is carrying it for streaming. But it is not listed as a "Free Game" thus requires subscription.

Good question. And folks should write their answer down now and remind themselves of what it was in October.

I don't think they were. But don't guess...show the numbers.

I always felt that Chipper's interplay with Mets fans was tongue in cheek and fun for all.

Just don't go on a tirade while quoting wrong numbers. I could now say why trust you about anything. Get the point!
comment in response to post
No! Mets were in the WS also in '73 and '00. If you are going to counter conspiracies then get your facts right.

The shame of it is I have but one heart to give for that comment.

Someone should tell them the 'a" key is one to the left of the 's' key. Or is it autocorrect?

Never got to an 86 game as I was finisihing up grad school, finding a job, and moving to Boston that summer. On the other hand, wife and I did get to watch (on TV) the 86 series in "enemy territory".

Laughing.

Especially remember Gil's slow walk out to left field to pull Cleon out after he loafed on a ball.

Not me but younger brother and not HS but grade school basketball (CYO?) Bro's claim to fame is that he stole the ball from Chris Mullin. Unfortunately as he went in for the subsequent lay up Mullin stuffed him.
