ICE crossed a line in LA

Methane/ "natural gas": not actually good for the climate, not good for people either. But governments love it more than their own children.

"Tin soldiers and Nixon coming We're finally on our own This summer I hear the drumming Four dead in Ohio" I pray no one dies tonight in LA.

When he fired the heads of JAG and inspector generals we knew this was coming. I hope America is ready.

Never forget, L.A. is the city of "I yield my time, fuck you!"

Re ICE officers masking - we argued in 2021 that RCMP at Fairy Creek must wear badges. The court, agreeing, said "The same" goes "for every police officer" and "every lawyer or judge ... for nearly everyone else that is granted authority. We identify ourselves. Accountability requires it."

This has gotta be one of the ways in which civil wars start - one level of government fighting another?

I'd love to get into government just to experience the persuasive power of Oil & Gas lobbyists.. is it subliminal messaging, hypnosis, .. magic?? Carney, Eby - are they just weak-minded, or is there some trick the rest of us don't know about?

So interesting that @theguardian.com covers these stories but US news media takes a pass? Like US readers wouldn't want to know the new Gestapo was organizing and training in their communities, supported by the Kremlin no less? www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

In a completely unsurprising move David Eby's BCNDP gov approves the PRGT pipeline, showing that First Nations who play ball get consultation, while those who don't get the Wet'suwet'en treatment. And that First Nations generally are going to get stuck with the stranded assets of our climate world.

Maybe it's time to finally set up a climate death tracker? This is the real cost of climate change, of every new project: human lives.

Great news. This is what we've been asking for here in Canada, to have climate impacts meaningfully assessed in the EA process, and getting ignored or brushed aside. I guess court is the next option.

Yeah. This is why tech solutions are not the answer (for climate), the question is a human one - do we care about others, or just ourselves?

it’s almost like courage in the face of fascism is rewarded by voters or something

🧵Trump & his thugs are helping Putin bury this horrific war crime. The State Dept refuses to say how & why it terminated the contract with a humanitarian group that was tracking the fate of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. Now the data collected in tracking the children has been deleted.

I think if the government tried to legislate away the contempt power in Canada courts would say it's an unwritten constitutional principle, because they can't function without it. For what it's worth, I would agree.

It's nice to see someone flipping the script. This is why ICE agents cover their faces.

This, for me, as an outsider, is the real American Dream: courage, loudness, truth to power, equality, standing up for reach other. It's a dream that's never been fully realised, but it can be. This is worth watching 3-4 times.

Funny how the Ford gov in Ontario, conservatives, and the BCNDP in BC, supposedly left (many still believe this) are doing the same thing - gutting legislation to allow corporations to do what they want. Funny huh!

“Thousands of newly obtained documents show” that the founders of Clearview AI—which is backed by Peter Thiel—“always intended to target immigrants & the political left. Now their digital dragnet is in the hands of the Trump admin.” This is incredible reporting by @lukeobrien.bsky.social, 4/2025 1/

Fafo, Putin. Russia attacking Ukraine is like the past attacking the future.

Should we call this "moonwalking," when they pretend to be going out the door, but are actually backing deeper in.. ?

Yes, I am saying that every single American member of the IDF who participated in this genocide should face criminal charges. The commission of a war crime by an American is punishable by life imprisonment *regardless of where the war crime occurred.* www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/...

We win 0 cases we don’t challenge.

This is what I've been up to.
