On one hand, I'm glad to be back home after a weekend of surprisingly eventful travel. On the other hand, my youngest daughter just broke her arm at the start of the summer. Life gives, life takes.

Want to work with Paste’s games team? We’re looking for an intern to start in July. It’d be a part-time gig, and yes, it pays. Email a resume, a cover letter explaining your experience and goals, and links to pertinent writing you’ve done elsewhere to [email protected] by Friday 6/20.

Wow. Watch this from Zohran Mamdani. It looks like the exact "fight" and "conviction" people are hopelessly asking for from the people in charge of the Democratic party:

Wrote about SGF, ICE, and covering the event as first-generation US born person.

You don’t need to be close to a cause to care about it but periodic reminder that my dad immigrated here from Mexico in the 80s, only eventually gaining citizenship. Supporting my work means supporting immigrants regardless of their status. Without them I would not be here.

Can’t wait to unpack our identical opinions next episode. @patrickklepek.bsky.social

Perhaps one of the odder and scarier ways to end my time in LA is walking home and being pelted with a paintball gun from a passing car. (I am bruised but okay.)

Part of the LA protest is, uh, currently outside my hotel window.

The thing that struck me both about this article is how the recordings so perfectly reflected my experience as a parent. From the blender going in the background to trying to validate the emotions of both kids while also searching for a solution, it's just so *real*.

I adore that Patrick writes from this perspective as a dad. I don't have kids and might never for reasons I won't get into even though Morgan and I both want them desperately, but to see how he is able to be a parent and have games be a part of their lives in such a fun way is so sweet.

Same thing happened with my kids! Tears were shed. Split screen free roam soon please. Also one was upset you had to drive on the water instead of under it. One said it looked “too computery” compared to 8 Deluxe. Once they saw the food and costume changes everything was better.

I spent the morning surprising my daughters with a Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. What happened next was happiness and disappointment, as we discovered what they'd dreamed of doing in Mario Kart World wasn't actually possible. At @crossplayblog.bsky.social www.crossplay.news/p/what-do-ki...

i stayed in line overnight at a circuit city waiting for the wii. i was also tripping on acid

Patrick was live blogging an experience younger gamers may never have. This is a migration of nerds rarely seen now.
