A very well directed film, with good cinematography and lighting. It really looks great. Most of the performances are convincing too. But the script just wasn't there. It's mostly okay.

To some degree sure, but I think that at least some of them see trans people as "impostors". Transphobia is a weird and sad collection of many forms of prejudice, it's never just "that one thing". Plus, a lot of neo-Nazism.
