When I was a boy watching/listening to Fred, Newc, Tony Trabert and Betsy Nagelson at Wimbledon was one of the highlights of the year for a little sport-head. R.I.P

Tigers won’t be that bad if injuries don’t plague us again. Along with WCE’s 2021-2023, Tigers 2024 was the worst injury run of any club this century. Conveniently forgotten by media as that’s not as good a story as Tigers completely bottoming out. I’d anticipate winning 5-6 games this year

Exactly. They’re 320 million of 8.2 billion. Surely we can collectively sanction them worse than they can us

I deduce they’re either selfish or ignorant. By ignorant I mean they could be genuinely uninformed, misinformed or have cognitive dissonance formed by long held bias - sometimes a bit of all of the above probably

People don’t understand the urgency. & also very reluctant to change behaviour. I was shocked in the pandemic people defied health advice in the face of approx. 1/100 chance of death in favor of their regular behaviour. Climate solutions can’t rely on behaviour change. Gotta be equivalent tech.

Books are a huge target of fascism. Easier to brainwash disinformation on the less educated. They want the general populous at a lower level of education

Wonder if people will ignore NASA on this one like they do climate change… Selective science

One of the many things that get to me about Aussie racists is that they’ll cheer Sam on and claim her when she kicks an amazing goal in WC semis. Similarly with their AFL team’s indigenous stars. Then turn on them as soon as they walk off the pitch

The daily news itself is bad enough. I can imagine it’s exacerbated ten fold over on that hellscape

Globally we need better education so people see beyond sales pitches. Many policies and problems to solve them can’t be relayed in slogans. We need a population that can handle reading a few sentences. And most importantly that can see through disinformation

Geez those woke people at AGL are just as bad as those woke people at CSIRO who are just as bad as those woke people in the fire brigades and BoM and NASA and NOAA and IPCC and insurance industry and every reputable university…
