This one was relatively weird.

I think the word "run" has connotations that aren't quite appropriate to what he's planning.
comment in response to post
I think we all know that it is, in actuality, to give us a place to post so that we do go more insane.

Encore!
comment in response to post
Agreed.
comment in response to post
Oh come on, you were so eager to badly pretend all sorts of things! Encore! Encore!
comment in response to post
What an absurdly naive thing to post.
comment in response to post
Your false modesty is unbecoming.
comment in response to post
I think I see where you're going with this... ...since they will find nothing acceptable, we should look to history for examples of what they will find convincing, yeah?
comment in response to post
Why are you talking like power is held by rational actors?
comment in response to post
This is some Black Mirror shit.
comment in response to post
Haha, remember when you started by telling me nuance is when someone insists that having artistic influences is the same thing as generative AI? Ridiculously stupid, simplistic, ironic, bullshit. So come on. Keep telling me about yourself.
comment in response to post
Aw? No more? Did you somehow catch on to what you're telling me?
comment in response to post
And assumptions are so much less satisfying than knowing. So go on. Tell me more about what ideas you know you should hold as important but do not. The importance of consent is an interesting focus, but what else?

An unprovoked military crackdown against a major city happens, just gassing commuters and attacking schools and businesses and shit, and the libs are like "None of the four million people living there better put a toe out of line, or else it will prove Trump right."
comment in response to post
The "spontaneous" really is an important part of it. Because the group that is being held to a standard of perfection here is just like... the city of Los Angeles.
comment in response to post
...to say a word like "asshole" is to attack a person. To call for the murder of a socially acceptable target is not.
comment in response to post
I got real mad and threw a couple of naughty words at an advocate for genocide on some forum many years ago. I was told "We have a rule about attacking ideas, not people." And it struck me how propriety works...
comment in response to post
So you tell me things about yourself and then think it would be impossible for me to know them. That was on my Bingo card.
comment in response to post
You mean the Democratic coalition that handed absolute power over to Trump? You can't think of any reason to be critical of that coalition?
comment in response to post
Liar. You start arguments planning to make those accusations. It doesn't fool anyone who actually cares about those things, by the way.
comment in response to post
Hah, what? This is some wild stuff.
comment in response to post
Oh. Well if you already had that information then you're just an asshole leaving stupid comments. Nevermind, I guess.
comment in response to post
Yeah, most people would rather be me than you. Your position is pretty relatable, tbh.
comment in response to post
Nah, you don't.
comment in response to post
Oh neat. The NDP mostly seem cool. I'd hate to have to write them off.
comment in response to post
Well of course. Sure, they get off on violence, but mass murderers are scary.
comment in response to post
You won't be able to tell, but that won't be a problem.
comment in response to post
Yes. Like a child fascinated by the old corpse of some animal. Compelled to poke it with a stick.
comment in response to post
This is such a stupid fucking thing to say. It's baffling that people keep finding ways to convince themselves otherwise.
comment in response to post
So what you missed here is the dead cop in question was murdered by another cop. You can stop wondering what's going on, why people would be speculating about possible motives, etc, now. You're welcome.
comment in response to post
You've finally caught up with everyone else and realized you haven't got anything to say. How long will you keep talking?
comment in response to post
No, you didn't, or else you wouldn't be wasting energy complaining. One of the important things you should have learned here is that there is no statute of limitations to stupid things you say on the internet. They just stay there. People keep seeing them and reacting to them.
comment in response to post
Well, thanks for letting everyone know you learned the wrong lesson from that.
comment in response to post
Nuance? Fight? Delusions of adequacy. This is interactive performance art about your personal dedication to attempted pedantey.
comment in response to post
Well, that's the dream. Or one of them, at least. Congrats.
comment in response to post
What are the cops gonna do about all those criminals exactly? They've been remarkably absent regarding a lot of kidnapping recently. No authorization, no warrants, no proof of identity. All you've got to do is convince the cops the victim is on the shit list, and they look the other way.
comment in response to post
Uvalde, though. When you see cops go to down beating the shit out of someone and later they say they thought he had a weapon, you know they're full of shit, because they had actually thought that they would have been paralyzed with fear.
comment in response to post
I've never been a murderer, am I therefore unqualified to say murder is bad? You're watching a criminal organization carry out violent crimes. Your lack of membership in that organization doesn't prevent you from understanding it is the problem.
comment in response to post
Seems like it would be less dangerous, just by the numbers, in terms of physical assaults, than keeping them around.
comment in response to post
How could that NOT happen? Just months of escalating violence with no one getting shot? It seems inevitable.
comment in response to post
Ah. The classic "Hypocrisy is when someone treats different things differently" hill. You've already committed yourself to dying there, yes?
comment in response to post
Everyone knows no good deed goes unpunished.
comment in response to post
It doesn't really matter how tactically/optically bad riots are. You have a few thousand dumb thugs just go lob teargas cannisters all over a busy place like downtown LA for a couple days, and things are eventually gonna escalate.

Bamboo is cool, and I had an incense bamboo survive the winter as a windowsill plant in Saskatchewan this year (so... pretty dark), despite occasional attacks by cats, but it got pretty ragged and I don't think it could live indoors 365 days a year.
comment in response to post
I've heard they're good at surviving relatively low light conditions. Human eyes do weird logarithmic stuff with light intensity. Inside is, for the most part, way darker than it looks.
comment in response to post
...or I'm exceptionally bad at it.
comment in response to post
The stuff you're experiencing gratitude over just makes me feel anger and/or despair. You're really good at this.
comment in response to post
She cheers them on regardless.

A friend just linked me that "You suck, give up" video about art, so I rewatched it. Very good video.
