If anything, it *teaches* them that 'their' can be used to refer to somebody when you don't yet know their gender.

It wouldn't store your content (other than in the browser cache for that one user) and it might give the user a rephrased version of your content if they've asked for it to be simplified or explained. But again, only for that one user, and never sent anywhere away from their device.
