Starmer faces a hard reality, as does the UK. It would be terminal for UK security if he loses Labour voters to Reform. If Dodds was a serious politician, she would stay involved. Resignation is simply an opt-out. We may not like it, and most of us don't. But that's where we are today.

Peter Robinson has always been a click-bait broadcaster, even before the term was invented. His format is simply to say something provocative in the hope of starting an argument. Compare with his predecessor, Brian Redhead - who actually wanted to help the audience understand what is happening

An even bigger screw-up is that this govt has followed the Tories and is failing to focus on the need to reshore supplies of basic generic drugs, despite the near- disastrous experience during Covid. They continue to assume imports will always be available, despite mounting evidence to the contrary

OpenAI & co have come up with a funny argument for why to accept these externalities: Yes unfortunately there are trade-offs in the short term, they say, but they're necessary to reach so-called AGI; AGI will then help us solve all these problems! So trade offs = worth it. 11/
