My father and his family would have chosen an earlier, more dignified death for him but severe dementia does not have to mean the end of life. And we should celebrate our carers as heroes, especially the many from other countries who have left their families to look after ours

Look to community. Look to friends and family who stood with us and who suffer the grief of this loss with us. In their company find comfort. And when you are ready to stand up and fight, I will be with you, too.
