2018 AAAS study: actual carbon emissions from Alberta oil sands exceeded what the industry was self-reporting by 19x to over 63x.
This study: actual methane emissions up to 7x what was self-reported.
Oil & gas producers are simply making up numbers.

The Martian... Mark Watney - cheerful, optimistic problem solver when the appropriate emotion is suicidal despair. Except for 20 seconds, after the Hab explodes, and his odds of surviving are reset to ~zero. Fast recovery back to cheerful, optimistic problem solver. A role model for 2025.

The objective of Trump and his supporters is cruelty. It's their drug of choice. The object of cruelty is cruelty.

Yes! It could have been much worse if the zealots on the right were at all cunning or subtle, instead of the rage of an offended toddler.

In the 90s/00s, US digital telephone switches regularly achieved 99.99999% (7 9s) availability - an avg downtime of 3sec per year. Worked thru hurricanes, fires earthquakes... upgrades(!). In 2025 - the design+test $s and FCC oversight that achieved this discarded... in favor of Q profit /bonuses.

The enforcement jobs in law - like hockey - attracts aggressive, must-win males. They may be 10%, but by character they dominate their colleagues. Constraining them thru rules alone is unlikely. 50% female can help.

Yes! How do you get 40% of voters to realize that government is not a reality show... the guys that break all the chairs, and heads, are not who you want for leaders. Sadly, this leadership ~worked when we stopped evolving.

Roofs! In 2010, Energy Sec Chu encouraged 'paint your roof white' for a major reduction in a/c energy, per house and globally. Many animals can change color - metachrosis. Give me m-c roof shingles!

Yes, empathy... but as AP said on TVO, also leadership - which DF is not showing. Vaccine science is tough - like much of 21C living. Sometimes, being told the right thing to do - by your leader, guided by experts - is what people are looking for.
