But why would you announce the long-leaked Eurovision entry on the same day as the biggest gay-world album drop of the year?? Wild.

Assume all those British politicians who described JD Vance in wonderful terms when he was chosen as VP are going to be issuing apologies right? Right? No?

Oh good so it turns out the closest Oscars in a generation is also going to be the fucking weirdest Oscars in a generation.

Lindsey Graham truly is the worst of the worst.

Been working on a thing…

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it wasn't until I was nearly a decade into my career and a literal chief executive of an organisation that I earned above the minimum wage on a paid role in theatre. We have to fix this. www.theguardian.com/culture/2025...

I think what I loathe most about KB is her dressing every inane statement she makes as a “truth bomb” or a “mic drop”. She’s like a teenage YouTuber with 350 followers who *somehow* has ended up in charge of the Conservative Party.

Tom Scott doing Into the Woods? Take my fucking money.

For many, many years now the Telegraph has simply been a pseudo-intellectual tabloid, using longer words and nicer formatting than their red-top rivals, but ultimately nothing more than a sensationalist, clickbait-driven bucket of slop. It's surprising that anyone even takes any notice anymore.

Jannik Sinner really determined to be the bad boy of tennis huh. Djokovic and Rune breathing a sigh of relief. Maddening.

Tariffs 👏 aren’t 👏 a 👏 charge 👏 on 👏 exporters 👏 they’re 👏 a 👏 charge 👏 on 👏 your 👏 own 👏 citizens 👏 you 👏 absolute 👏 buffoon 👏

Quite surprised at the muted response to this. Controlling (or attempting to control) arts and media is fascism 101.

Yeah the little space man doing a Nazi salute is the end of it for me, deleting X for good. Enough.

Good to see the US establishment entirely disregarding any idea of principles for the sake of showing up on TV one more time.

Today is Paul Virides Productions' 10th birthday - a slightly wild milestone. The last decade has like a warmup act since I've almost continuously had a primary job paying the bills while PVP exists in the background. But looking ahead at the next 10, PVP feels like the main character. That's fun 🥳

I don't know who needs to hear this (well actually I do) but if you follow your favourite OF creators on Instagram on your main WE CAN ALL SEE IT.

Have been more than a bit quiet on here after some bad family news in December stunted my capacity for engaging with a whole new platform. But slowly migrating back. While I adjust, I thought this was very good from @nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2025/01/10/t...

Nothing fills me with dread more than a British soap cutting to a montage laid over a countertenor singing a Christmas carol. Only truly awful things can happen when they activate Operation Away In A Manger.

If I had £1 for every time TodayTix told me the sale was ending soon...

This is your periodic reminder that the Parthenon marbles were sold by an occupying colonial force to the British.

If you saw Wicked for the first time on film, please do your best to go see it on stage too. I truly think the film is a marvel, but it’s no match for the zing of a live orchestra and actual Elphaba belting her actual face off in front of you.

I’ve been putting off seeing Wicked for a week. The show means an absurd amount to me - I first saw it on Boxing Day 2006 in Idina Menzel’s final days as Elphaba and I’ve been completely enamoured ever since. (1/2)

Spending a lot of time lately thinking about how I would change the theatre industry given ✨Resources✨. And slowly realising that waiting for permission is a fool’s game. What would you change if you just “could”? I don’t mean petty grievances - I mean big structural things. #theatresky #uktheatre

I’m so pleased that What Is This Feeling? (the greatest song in Wicked) is finally getting the credit it deserves.

TERFs having their posts hidden and marked as containing Intolerance is…. Chef’s kiss. I’m holding space for *that*

Very much enjoying the right going through our last 14 years of hell: protests that don't change the government's mind, shouting in the media while the government shrugs its shoulders, creating entirely unreasonable petitions and watching them die on arrival. This is the world you lot created, soz.

Further to this... finally watching The Bear and... fucking hell.

The thing that made Twitter work in its very earliest days was the community: they invented the RT, the MT/CT/PRT, the h/t, weekly #ff and even the hashtag. Bluesky is following in that tradition and it's glorious to see after the last couple of years of oligarchical interruption.

This is great (even if the thumbnail cuts her head off) apple.news/ANbLr5AZxRL-...

I am so, so tired of job adverts with a salary of “competitive”. All it says is that you’re going to pay as little as possible, that someone else at the same level is going to have a wildly different salary, and that you are treating workers as goods to be bought and leveraged.

Some of these starter packs are getting awfully specific…

You know who hasn't had this degree of media support for their financial interests? Disabled people, poor people with more than two kids, public sector workers (after all that clapping for the NHS). I'm not usually a 'blame the media' person but seriously - this is mad

Finally reading Wolf Hall and oh it’s rather good isn’t it?? Someone should make it into a play or a tv series or something.

Have made a starter pack for UK Theatre Producers Let me know if you want to be added 😁 go.bsky.app/GYWWH7Z

I once bumped trollies with an elderly Greek lady by accident in a supermarket. She called me about 10 names under her breath. When we next encountered each other on another aisle I bumped again on purpose and said a quick “συγνώμη”. Wish I’d taken a photo of her reaction…

I can’t believe I’m actually about to willingly watch a boxing match for the first time in my life.

Has anyone made a good starter pack of theatre people yet?

“Thankfully, we can do this because our business model does not rely on viral content tailored to the whims of the social media giants’ algorithms” yassssss go off Grauniad you DIVA

In a former life I was a regular churchgoer. No doubt that Welby’s credibility has been shot for a long time, but his resignation is bad news for LGBT Christians. It’s very hard to imagine that the next ABC will be willing to take the criticism he did, & will likely appease the evangelical right.

Well, well, well. Good thing ⁦‪@UKLabour‬⁩ spent the last few years appeasing Duffield with bullshit rhetoric that harmed people in favour of “votes”. Good riddance. Let this be a first step to the govt finally embracing trans inclusive policies. apple.news/A49ibmU70SLa...

Well this wasn't on my bingo card for this week...

“If you were a fisherman you’d struggle to have your bait taken so often” has to be the analysis quote of the night from @jaketapper.bsky.social 🤣🤣🤣
