The distance between us and the globular cluster in Hercules (22000 light-years, right pic) is only about a third of the Whirlpool galaxy's width (left pic). The galaxy is about a thousand times further from us than the cluster. Quick pics from last night, while enjoying the warm clear night. 🔭 🧪
