How is this scintillating bonus content not behind a paywall? Huzzah!

Seriously. I need something that communicates "I do not like anything about this post, but I thank you for reporting it, and also, solidarity."

It was really good. One thing it missed, as does much reporting on this topic, is domestic economic impact (purchases and R&D). Security spending also involves a lot of construction and domestic suppliers and potential political support on this front - it’s not just a “cash out the door” impact.

Are we sure it’s 10%? The definition of energy in the EO is “The term “energy” or “energy resources” means crude oil, natural gas, … uranium, coal, biofuels, geothermal heat, the kinetic movement of flowing water, and critical minerals, as defined by 30 U.S.C. 1606 (a)(3).” 10% is only for energy.

Unstable shadow-president Musk controls the treasury payment system now. How’s that 10-year yield looking? What does full faith and credit mean now?

If “oil has nothing to do with it”, what does have something to do with it? Electricity? Food? Cars? What is “it”?

Economists, in unison: “it depends”.
Is it a truly competitive market (and not, say, oil)? What is the shape of the supply curve over both the short and long-term?
If the good is Hollywood movies for example, probably nothing.

No offence, but it is surprising it needed this much study.
Also, in owned homes it is typically not costly to get lower level 2 (15 amp 240v) which will meet almost everyone’s need. (Not an option where you can’t adjust wiring/panel). Very few people ever need the typical 50 amp level 2 at home.
