Beyond cruel, he's claiming they are morally unfit -- it alludes to dishonorable discharge which has severe consequences. tinyurl.com/xpy2zhrj

I see it as rendering the speaker of the quote as more problematic than the words spoken. If this is an analogy for today, who do you see as Sherman?

Unfortunate source but a great quote. Sherman was truly ruthless.

Kushner here on "cleaning out Palestine" (i.e. of Palestinians). Appalling. Biden seemed complicit. The whole thing for an alternative canal to the Suez. (Apparently, a long-standing offer of the US govt back in the day to drop the bombs to do it. Not in this video.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtaI...

Jimmy was another authentic soul. It's about character from within. And walking the talk. In the past, I've been door-to-door throughout the lower 48 talking to people. It ain't all like you see on the Tee-vee. The next generation has it right with grass roots mutual aid, real connections.

policies on things. But on DJT? she got it right. She did the right thing. Not as in right wing, as in what best serves the nation in the long run, what honors ethics, truth and all those ideals we cherish. So lets do the right (as in correct) thing. Like Liz. Like Jimmy. That's all I'm saying.

I don't think it is a "party" problem. The DNC makes money, loads of it, whether "our chosen ones" win or not. It's about *doing* the right thing. It's about walking the talk. In the GOP for ex. Liz Cheney has more (pardon the expression) "balls" than anyone else. (I don't agree with many of her 1/2

๐Thank you. This is truly helpful. So much Sturm und Drang in the media sometimes that -- Hello! Facts! -- get overlooked.

๐ฑ(first reaction). What do you make of the idea that DJT would do something similar w/o guardrails? And that if Joe sets the terms (the way DJT set the terms of withdrawing from Afghanistan), then Joe can put some guardrails in place. Like Obama sending troops to Poland just before DJT was sworn in.

I think he has his good points as most people do. But aging out is a reality. I <3 RBG, but she shudda quit so Obama could have replaced her. Joe is more in that camp for me. He should have known better. I wonder if Jill wasn't egging him on..that's strictly water cooler talk, not stumping here. ๐

It's not a tired promise to me. I held my nose and voted for him *because* he was only going to serve one term. He was pretty friggin' old when he started, showing his age in a way Bernie (knock wood) doesn't.

Also, please see comment (I'm re-posting [prior typo read reporting]) below. It is also true that most of the wonky *good* things Joe has done have not been sung from on high by the media.

I agree with you on the age thing. However, good old Joe, is a career politician. He has yet to stop sending bombs to Israel. He has allowed drilling for oil on sacred lands. He promised to be a 1-term president and broke his promise by running again. He's good old Joe, comfy inside the beltway.

He did say this, though: "Yesterday, children were bombed," said the pope. "This is cruelty. This is not war." www.reuters.com/world/pope-c....
