owning a small business in 2025…

Recent Pentagon policies are having direct impacts on students at Defense Department schools around the globe and leaving students and their parents concerned they’re being disadvantaged by attending the schools, multiple students and parents told CNN: cnn.it/43KsuFA

The top five egg producers own roughly half of all U.S. laying hens. The biggest of those corporations is Cal-Maine, which just announced quarterly profits of $509 million — more than 3x what it made a year ago. Corporate concentration + bird flu = a price-hiking free for all.

Now, they're deciding what IDEAS are illegal. When will the post mortem on our democracy be held?

The executive targets his opponents w/bogus investigations. His government disappears people w/out due process and vanishes them beyond reach. He usurps legislative power, controls public funds at will, & consolidates power. Loyalty is expected — or else. Authoritarianism isn’t coming. It’s here.

The House is poised to vote on the SAVE Act tomorrow. What's behind the GOP's push for proof of citizenship in elections? Voter suppression and lies about immigration.

🤦🏾‍♀️

The Chinese people have been living under an authoritarian regime for DECADES. They are accustomed to enduring economic hardship. People in the U.S. tried to riot and assassinate government officials because they couldn't go to their local bar for a drink during a pandemic. We ain't built for this.

And there it is. The rationale y'all were looking for. Again, grifters gonna grift.

Grifters gonna grift. Always.

Do we really believe that "75 countries" have raced to negotiate on trade with this regime?

This isn’t a trade war against China and the rest of the world. It’s an economic war against working class America.

i’m of the view that it would be genuinely idiotic for the white house to invoke the insurrection act if it wants to stay in power. if you are going to call out troops to confront throngs of protesters, you need to be extremely confident that they will obey every order given to them.

Dear DHS, If you are getting the IRS to share data on undocumented immigrants, then you are acknowledging that they pay taxes (even though they do not benefit from their payments as citizens do). When you kidnap and expel all of them, how are you going to replace that revenue? Asking for a friend...

"It was a fresh reminder that in his second term, Mr. Trump has continued to find ways to drive business to his family-owned real-estate ventures, a practice he has sustained even when his work in Washington has caused worldwide financial turmoil." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/05/u...

I have been talking about this since shortly after the election and trying to encourage people to get a plan/prepare. If you even skimmed through "Project 2025," it was easy to see what was coming. Y'all think the pandemic was bad? Smh...🤦🏾‍♀️

From Nov 7:

And they are dangerously stupid, so we will suffer for their stupidity.

Lutnick's explanation for why an island inhabited by penguins was included in the tariffs: "China ships stuff through other countries in order to avoid paying tariffs, so we had to hit everybody." Dang, I never realized penguins could build that level of infrastructure. 🙄

Exactly. The only to way profitably re-shore many, if not most, manufacturing jobs is to reduce the salaries, benefits, and protections of workers.

Jesus’s strongest rebukes were for those religious leaders who used the words of God to crush and control humanity.

This is good.

If Biden or Obama had done this, GOP & MAGA folks would have lost their minds. They would have broken out the tar and feathers over such a lack of respect for fallen military members.

"All we say to America is, 'Be true to what you said on paper.'" These words — spoken by MLK Jr. shortly before he was killed on this day in 1968 — ring just as true now. Let's honor his legacy by continuing the fight for social and economic justice.

Current U.S. economic policy: "Listen, I'm going to start punching you in the face. Don't panic, and don't punch back. Just lay there and let me keep punching you so I can say I beat you, and everyone will think I'm the strong and wonderful--even though they are getting bloody and traumatized, too."

And what is also sad is the number of small business owners who voted for him. Smh… substack.com/@lucy456751/...

"When people show you who they are, believe them." ~Venerable Elder Maya Angelou

Because the gaslighting by this new regime is epic. Let's never allow the truth to be buried.

The fact that this is NOT a headline from "The Onion" is absolutely appalling.

Can we talk about how, given the way that the new regime has gutted pretty much all of the regulatory agencies (including OSHA) and is hostile to the work of unions, these "American jobs" they are promising will mostly be lower paying, with far fewer benefits and little safety protection?

The one thing this regime has excelled at is finding the most awful, unqualified people to place in positions of authority. Their well apparently has no bottom.

Russia - along with North Korea, Belarus and Cuba (you read that right!) - is a rare exception to Trump’s tariffs. Remember: Trump removed U.S. Intel sharing with Ukraine to force it to accept a ceasefire, which it has. Trump has yet to impose costs on Moscow, which continues to defy any ceasefire.

Found these old grievances online. Sound familiar? He cuts off our trade with all parts of the world: He imposes taxes on us without our consent: He deprives us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury: He transports us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses…

"What was beautiful about Gafney’s presentations is how closely she adhered to explaining the biblical texts and challenging our traditional English translations. She is more of a literalist than most conservatives who call themselves literalists." baptistnews.com/article/the-...

FACT: Social Security has a fraud rate of 0.00625%, which is far lower than private sector retirement programs.

A reality check that's helping me catch my breath today. "Mainstream" media needs to talk about this more. But they're probably too scared. www.acslaw.org/inbrief/what...
