VS Code had an extension for this earlier, but it’s a built-in feature now. Thanks for pointing out you can customize the colors, the defaults don’t work well with some color themes.

Re parking apps — I do wish these people had usable websites. But also, iOS has this mini-app thing called “App Clips”, which were meant to be useful for parking type scenarios. Guess that never caught on?

Poetry and now uv have made life a bit better. I have a script that sets up 3.12 / 3.13 without touching macOS’s Python — useful for restricted environments (eg no brew, no admin access, limited downloads). For less restricted environments `uv python install 3.13` works really well for me.
