The Republican Party is coming after Social Security. 💯

@hcrichardson.bsky.social So powerful, I cried...

The Republican Senate is to blame for this. Donald Trump wanted only yes men. It was their job to confirm and consent. They knew Hegseth wasn’t up to the job, but put him in charge anyway. They risked our country’s security to please the mad king and should be punished for it at the ballot box.

Yes.

At some point, Pete Hegseth is going to lose his job. And when that occurs, Donald Trump should get absolutely no credit for it. He knew this would happen the moment he nominated Hegseth. Donald Trump owns every bit of this mess.

We look forward to being in your funeral too. Do we have a date yet? How about next Friday?

In a move to change cultural attitudes about childbearing, the Trump administration may soon start bestowing mothers of six or more children a special medal. Here's a not-so-fun fact: This idea was popularized in Nazi Germany.

I just led dozens of my colleagues in writing a letter to OMB Director Vought demanding answers about the administration’s reckless use of AI—not surprisingly, Elon Musk is at the center of it all, apparently profiteering off our data.

Serious question. Kristi Noem was pictured with a Rolex in El Salvador, and got 3k in cash stolen. She has been on a govt salary for years. Something aint right

Just announced: University of Michigan Faculty Senate resoundingly votes to support Big Ten academic mutual defense compact. 92.8% of over 3,000 votes.

@ruthmarcus.bsky.social in the @newyorker.com: “The Justices, most of them, must now understand: we are not dealing with an Administration that deserves the benefit of the doubt. … The ensuing 1 a.m. order represented the Administration reaping the results of its own bad-faith arguments.”

Don't put in the newspaper that she is a history buff. The review of the Smithsonian museums for "improper ideology" is being led by a 35-year old lawyer who has no experience or credentials in history or museum studies. But one supporter says she is an avid "fan of history."🗃️

Let’s hope Noem’s purse did not contain her cell phone with any active Signal chats www.nytimes.com/2025/04/21/u...

Vance is the second suspect right after Bronchitis.

National security ain’t supposed to be a family affair, but apparently Pete Hegseth missed that memo. Leaking classified military plans—TWICE—the second time on a personal Signal chat to friends and family? That man has no business being Defense Secretary. He’s a threat, not a leader.

Trump’s tariffs could lead to stagflation. That would be a nightmare. Here’s what it means www.msnbc.com/ali-velshi/w...

Van Hollen on Fox News Sunday: "I'm not vouching for the man. I'm vouching for the man's rights. His constitutional rights to due process."

“A new study models the impact of the implosion of U.S.-funded disease treatment and prevention in the developing world — and suggests that Elon Musk and Marco Rubio will go down as among history’s greatest monsters if funding and effective administration are not restored.”

Marco Rubio just became the latest Trump official to walk back a supposed Executive Order... www.govexec.com/management/2...

Mic drop

A prominent Republican in power finally said it. The party is afraid of Trump. They all know this is wrong. Soon they will have to decide where their red line is, because they are complicit in these crimes now. Stand up before it's too late! www.adn.com/politics/202...

Free markets . . . until you can’t compete in them. Then, big government regulation to make sure you win the game.

Every dictator in history has claimed that they’ll only use their powers to go after the worst of the worst. Every dictator in history has lied. Donald Trump is no different.

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

In addition to being wonderful human beings who do many of these things, the autistic people I've known: ✅Don't have brain worms ✅Don't take steroids ✅Don't play with animal carcasses ✅Have not driven their spouses to suicide ✅Are not actively trying to kill thousands of American children

One of my favorite Montanans spoke at the Fighting Oligarchs rally yesterday - MEIC’s Anne Hedges. She pulled a Heather Cox Richardson and connected all the “king” dots throughout MT History. Brilliant!

The stakes are growing higher for our constitutional republic.

“Virtually every day now we see government lawyers, acting on Ms. Bondi’s behalf, gaslighting and stonewalling federal judges from coast to coast. … “Brad Bondi isn’t the right person to lead the DC Bar at this time. Not now. Not at this extroardinarily perilous moment for our legal system.”

Think of the College Football Trophy as a metaphor for America under the Trump-Vance Regime

When a convicted felon tells you he’s coming for your rights— Believe him. When the party backing him stays silent— Believe them too.

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

Well done, Harvard. Standing up to Trump will not be easy, but academic freedom demands it. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/u...

Thousands of jobs. Cleaner transit. Less traffic. A direct line from Dallas to Houston. That’s what this project could’ve meant for Texas— but instead, the Trump Administration shut it down.
