Trying to convey what you see in your head to others can be daunting. Sometimes there’s no words to truly explain what your mind sees.

My reproduction of Starry Nights done in digital cmyk. No idea how many dots make up this piece.

The beauty of Space Smith, and all Fletcher Hanks work, was it was made without a filter. Hanks put down whatever was in his brain… most of it a normal person would never let be seen. Simply put, there’s nothing else out there like a Fletcher Hanks comicbook.

Look up zipatone for a better good explanation than I could give. It was around up to the 80s. Graphic artists used it to add tone that previously would be lines and stipple. After I figure out Ditko’s inking, I’ll be adding my digital Crafttone coloring I developed.

Thanks. I know it's a copy but I meed to learn the secres of his inking style. And a teacher online suggested the structure copying to more thoroughly observe it as you put ink to paper.

Nice mapping skills. Here’s a map you may like. I’m finishing up a project using this as my examplar. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebstorf...

Pen and ink is my favorite although with the arthritis I’m moving to microns and brush pens. A little easier for my hands to deal with.

Most of my art now is ink work only. Though I’m moving back to some pencil drawings.

Remember, I’m a Basil Wolverton fan. And he could be extremely corny yet very funny.

It's the "Purity of Essence" reference which is the truly dangerous vibe to me.

I was overseen by a few excellent calligraphy teachers. That's one reason my calligraphy (at least the older stuff) came out so clean. They stopped me from making bad mistake early on. The most important thing to remember is calligraphy isn't writing, it's drawing. But needs to be very precise.

My advice would be to find a teacher. There is so many little things that are missed when you try to learn calligraphy by yourself. It’s harder than learning art.
