Surely this new video won't make me seem like a crank. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEJp...

its always red

When will people understand that simply by saying "credit to the artist" they're actually not giving ANY credit to the artist... This annoys me so much. Just don't reupload if you don't know who made it and can't make sure the artist allows reuploads in the first place! Please! 😭

Real king vibes right here @maro254.bsky.social

First they came for the communists and I was like wow. Then they came for the socialists and I said that's nuts. Then I basically kinda tuned out for mental health reasons. Anyways

BIG news! The MTG Wiki is now being hosted by @scryfall.com on mtg.wiki This means all the same wiki content you looked up constantly, tab by tab, reading the vast history of the game but on a platform with ZERO advertisement. No stupid banners. No stupid videos autoplaying. AD. FREE.

on my hands and knees begging developers to not put 'dailies' into your single player game as a general rule the answer to 'should this thing from a mobile or f2p game be in our game we charge money for' is 'no'

The point of the battle pass is to 1) cause you FOMO and 2) induce sunk cost to keep you playing. Free battlepasses, especially ones you are automatically opted into, are designed to keep you playing the game for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of the gameplay experience.

Gacha, battle passes, crafting systems for cosmetics, loot boxes and the rest of the skinner box engagement traps - ALL of these systems are predatory, regardless of designer intent.

We're finally dismantling the federal government! Sure hope it doesn't serve essential functions that I've taken for granted my whole life

If a critical axiom from Duckfeed could catch on, I'd want it to be "Ignoring things isn't a free action." When a game has a shitty crafting system, like Horizon Zero Dawn for example, people love to say "you can just ignore it." That takes work! That crafting system impacts so many other things.

The reason A.I. is being shoved down our throats is shareholders want a return on their investment. Every company that integrates this crappy tech into their products knows you don't want it, but they've sunk too much money into it and don't care. Turn it off, don't use it, don't look back.

Re: algorithmic feeds I've seen some posts now which make me wonder how people process options available to them. I'm still begging people to use the subs feed on YT and people talked about the For You feed on xitter as if it replaced the Following feed. And all I can say is ???

Feels like a lot of learned helplessness wrt the discussion around TikTok being banned How about y'all spin up offsite communities and communicate rather than rely on blackbox algorithms with a profit motive TikTok should've been nothing more than a springboard rather than your whole world

@niminightmare.bsky.social Congrats on the debut, love your design!!💭 #nimagery #ArtsOfNighto💀

What the media doesn't want you to know

You see games very differently when you start making them. From a player's perspective: Mario travels across the Mushroom Kingdom! From a dev's perspective: Mario is banished from the universe when he touches a flagpole. A perfect Mario clone is birthed and dropped into level 2.

Either it's my age or my absolute disdain for blackbox algorithms, but I don't really understand the TikTok ban hysteria. It's just a platform, the important bit are the creators on it. As long as those creators can post freely on other platforms, it just doesn't seem worth as much frenzy

Installing Linux is sort of like medical transition, it's a long term solution to a lot of problems, and you're right to suggest it, but you gotta know the right timing and "highly specific immediate short-term issue" isn't it
