Our lesson has been that Democracy is not something you take for granted, we as citizens must fight for it every day, we still do right now. Especially with someone with the weigth of Trump and Musk being on the other side of the trenches.

It was a close call, they planned for the military to take the Instuitions; Parliament; Senate. At the end, beside the efforts of the Supreme, and a wide political front against the coup, the Army( with some exceptions) did not back them up. International recognition of Lula's mandate was also key.

Exactly happened in Brazil under Bolsonaro: the Courts were the line protecting us most of the time. Now Bolsonaro's son, Eduardo, fled to the US, as we are prossecuting those whom tryed a coup d'état and incited violence during the last elections. US is the world alt-right reference.
