What I saw looked like it was a White House post. Thinking they were trying to stroke Trump’s ego so he wouldn’t feel so bad about Elon’s dominance.

Actually she’s from St. Louis, a blue dot in the red state of Missouri. She went to a private high school, MICDS, and a Catholic high school, Rosati-Kaine.

CLAM was a separate organization back then (about 2000) but must have been under the Human Rights Office. There is still a CLAM but it shows other categories of service recipients.

Interesting that Trump didn't spell out the purpose of the legal assistance for the poor at the time Ed was at the Human Rights Office. IIRC the organization he supervised was the Catholic Legal Assistance Ministry and its primary purpose was assisting Spanish speakers with immigration issues.

Yes. Wondering if they are now able to work on cases against the administration? Saw somewhere that the more 'prestigious' firms didn't want to be involved in that for fear of reprisal.

@gtconway.bsky.social Check Ed Martin’s history. He had a lot of jobs, most of which he was fired from. St. Louis Archdiocesan Human Rights Ofc, Mo Gov’s chief of staff, CNN. He also broke with Phyllis Shafly’s family and took over her Eagle Forum after her death. He liked to connect with big names.

Lambert Field was a real challenge. Controllers dealt with airliners, MoANG jets, McDonnell Douglas flight testing, small private planes with no transponders. And at that time all they saw on departure and arrival radar was small line, double if pilot turned the transponder on. Most were awesome!

After I got my Accounting Degree, I worked for the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Again, a range, some auditors super, a few not. I was manager of an office with 26 auditors where the women were the best performers though there were a few very strong men. Other offices averaged more competent men.

@joycewhitevance.bsky.social I am retired civil service employee. 1964-1968 I was secretary at the Lambert Field Control Tower. The talent and competence of the controllers was a range, some super & amazing, some weak, most very competent. All were white men trained as controllers in the military.

I have had Netflix since the first “Full Swing.” Never got around to watching the second part or anything else. I’ve now discovered TV shows (NCIS and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) & movies. Today I’m watching Blue Bloods, all day Weds on ION. Amazed it was so easy to quit the constant cable news.

2/2 Grace Commission: After some time, contractors were abusing the privilege and the regulations returned. Is there anyone who can authentically share the Grace Commission info? #jomannies

Claire, During Reagan's reign I worked for the Defense Contract Audit Agency auditing defense contractors. Reagan appointed the 'private' Grace Commission to come up with government efficiency recommendations. Many were a reduction in oversight.
