It also creates plenty of space for throwing other groups under the bus, which the st. paul principles are supposed to fix but in practice most of this happens behind the scenes and ofc no one follows, cares about, or probably even knows about them (I suspect they're mostly a mn thing at this point)

The competing for status part makes this worse as it incentivizes high-profile but ineffective actions that boost group status within the movement (this is especially true with the Jewish antizionist groups imo, see the tit-for-tat short-term disruptions of commuter transport by jvp and inn)

This was also a problem in 2020 and to some extent with occupy and to a much greater extent with the anti-globalization movement to my understanding and like it's easy and a little bit correct to blame the media for the entitativity problem but blaming the media doesn't actually fix the problem
