Really - the TUC advocating for tax payers to fund a company that made £3.4 billion profit last year in the UK alone whilst pensioners freeze. This is apart from nuclear being an outdated and discredited energy supply. You should be ashamed to put out a post like that.

I've wondered what years of austerity have done to resources that might otherwise have picked up on him. Plus Prevent prob get resources based on results. Easy to withdraw support for someone who failed to engage previously & doesn't fit remit. Not enough positive outcomes prob means cuts to funding

Thanks for sharing your forget-me-nots. I really appreciate your photos. This was taken in the summer at a garden I visited.

I know that's not really about the by-election. Maureen was a good political operator but also reached out over common cause. In our case a love of empire biscuits and feminism. However I mostly found the politics there very bitter though I have moved away (geographically) some time ago.

I monitored indyref postal vote opening at EAC for Yes. Maureen there for No. As a councillor Maureen could access refreshments in a way I couldn't due to security. She would always bring me tea & an empire biscuit. We chuckled about whether these were none neutral biscuits. Not many like her in Lab

2/ However the legend is that Michael Forsyth's mother-in-law lived in a small Ayrshire community now part of EAC. She did not want to be lumped in with Irvine/N Ayrshire. So Ayrshire split into 3 LAs with East Ayrshire getting Cumnock & Doon to give the Tories a chance to take control of S Ayrshire

Yes but if you remember, Labour & Tories wanted an all Ayrshire authority. The SNP wanted 4 LAs arguing that most Ayrshire communities are small towns/villagrs which would get ignored for Killie, Ayr & Irvine. There was sympathy for that. There was talk of splitting into north & south Ayrshire 1/

I think with something like the Strictly final, you are always going to find it hard to avoid seeing the result if you're on social media. However it's still worth watching for the dancing as all the dancers were superb.

Absolutely a vote for both.

I am older than you and still enjoy an advent calendar.

Agree. I was watching Janey Godley's funeral online yesterday and saw some really lovely comments here. The old place was seething bile towards a woman that has passed away and her family.

Absolutely Paul. I hope your family member is on the mend. Had a health emergency in my family recently too. They were admitted through A&E and saw 5 doctors including 2 consultants on a Sunday evening. On the mend now with continued treatment. Thank goodness no worries about how to pay for it all.

Sorry for your loss. I hope you can take some comfort in the photos. Your mum sounds like she was a legend.
