Just watched the Home Counties private schoolboy Nigel Farage telling northern voters how he understands steelworkers because he used to work in the “metals business” himself. He was, ahem, a commodities trader at the London Metal Exchange in the City.

How much does an 11 minute space flight cost these days? Asking for a friend 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣

In today's Teesside Lead... Ben Houchen to stand down as chair of development corporations after government intervention. Plus an exclusive... TVCA spent over £30,000 sending staff on overseas trips in a single week last month.

BBC’s Chris Mason listed what the government could do to improve the economy, but contrived not to mention the EU. Reith's principles in a BBC terrified that it might no longer know how not to frighten the horses. Pecksniff’s Diary

Labour MP @bengoldsborough.bsky.social writes for @politics.co.uk: “Nigel Farage now struts about like a country gent, wrapped head to toe in pristine Barbour and brand-new tweed… “He’s cosplaying the countryside, not fighting for it” www.politics.co.uk/mp-comment/2...

'Reform is trying to make gains on the back of a weak and lacklustre political old guard. It’s a party that uses the politics of fear to divide our communities.'

🚨BREAKING: Investigatory Powers Tribunal will hear Liberty’s and @privacyint.bsky.social’s case against UK Gov’s attempts to secretly force Apple to give it access to people’s iCloud data This case is vital to protect BILLIONS of people’s privacy

Nigel Farage says Kemi Badenoch "doesn’t know what hard work is" - but he's certainly keeping busy himself. In just six months, he's raked in over £570,000 from GB News, gold bullion deals, social media, and public speaking - all while jetting to the US eight times.

It's amazing how few people in the UK realise that the last time the world went in to a massive financial tailspin, albeit one not directly caused by the President of the USA, it was Gordon Brown & the late Alistair Darling who provided the sort of international leadership desperately needed now.

Any commentator who told us Trump would be a success or over here specifically that Truss would be a triumph for the Tories or that Badenoch would destroy Starmer or that Johnson would be PM for at least a decade should be ignored. There's a lot of them.

We are seeing more people realising the need for better social media regulation. How are things allowed on social media which could not be shown on TV, when social can now have more reach and look identical to a TV show? Things need to urgently change! Please sign my petition.

Our newspapers are increasingly chasing online clicks through outrageous or factually incorrect headlines that contradict the facts in their stories. Some call it 'rage bait'. Many will only ever see the headlines and be completely misled. This has to change! Please sign my petition.
